I figured a discussion board or forum setting could be useful to start some discussions about bread and culture. As you probably already know, my parents are Honduran. I started making Pan de Coco a long time ago, but only recently did I make it using my sourdough starter. Thanks to anyone that has tried this recipe and shared it. Sharing is what will make us all better bakers. Naturally leavened breads are much better for you, from a health and flavor perspective.
I have to admit, out of all the types of breads out there, it's this Central American classic that takes the cake for me. It speaks to my cultural identity, and it reminds me of where I come from. Most importantly, it's delicious and pretty easy to make. I respect and love making rustic, European style breads and Viennoiserie. But damn, I must be biased.
What about you? Is there a type of bread that you relate to more than others? Share a post and help this discussion get going!
